I am currently sporting my Teeny Weeny Afro, and initially I had sought to find different hairstyles to put it in before I wacked it in cornrows. Excitedly, I went to YouTube hoping to get ideas on what I could do with my Afro, and although I did find lots of great, short Afro tutorials, I didn’t have much luck in finding a style that I could actually do to my natural hair. I blame this on the fact that my hair at the moment is just not thick enough so simple styles like flat twists, scraping your afro at the front so it creates an Afro puff at the back- just look reDUNKulous on me.
So in exasperation, I went back to Lady Reliable- the good ol’ turban, and this is how I will rock my TWA until I get my hair cornrowed next week.
In reaching my below look, I took my turban inspiration from this image-
I liked the additional touch of the brooch, which I feel gives the turban an added regal edge, so I came up with the below style-
I love this canary yellow and multi-coloured butterfly print material and it was supposed to be a gift for a friend but I couldn’t bear to be parted from it!

Isa!! I made my turban by my wee self! I love, LOOOVE tying turbans and can make beacoup des different styles and shapes. A video tutorial is a good idea, I have been thinking of doing a video for a while buuuut haven’t quite worked out how I can get it filmed…
