What is Yanga, I hear some of you asking- Yanga is a word that derives from Nigerian Pidgin or broken English.  It means to ‘pose’ or ‘show off’ In this competition, I am using the word in a positive sense, as I believe the ladies below have a lot to ‘make yanga’ about.

I am very excited about starting this competition as I want to use it as a platform to give people style and beauty ideas.  Through the carefully, selected pictures that will be shown, girls and ladies all over the word will be able to get hair and beauty ideas for their Afro or relaxed hair, they will be able to see how to fuse and mergeAfrican-inspired staples with Western clothing, as well as how to mix high street with high end clothing.

So please, join in annointing ‘Miss Yanga’ by putting in the ‘Comments’ section, the name of who you think should win this competition of innovative style and beauty.  Or in Pidgin English- make una vote for who you dey think make yanga well well.  On Tuesday 27th March I will tally up the Comments and the lady who was voted the most in my Comments section will win these vintage beauties (a Gold flower brooch and faux seed pearls)-
